Sometimes the sun in shining brings
A Joy that lifts the heart on wings
Above the lands of verdant green
Over the sandy sea-side scene.
Sometimes the breeze will bring to mind
The windmill's creak as stone refined
The ears of wheat to healthsome flour,
Its constancy! Its gentle power!
Sometimes the rain on window glass
Echo's the pain of times that pass
To leave perception sharpened by
The sunlight caught in dew-drop eyes.
For sun and rain and breeze, it's true
Can light one's wilting thoughts anew,
Just as the flowers, we survive
As sun and rain our hopes revive,
And on the breeze far out to sea
We soar in thought alive and free!
