Hiring a live band or any time of live entertainment can be risky. You can ‘t truly know how your guests will react to any certain type of entertainment. Also, will this entertainment be able to hand a large crowd? Keep them happy and entertained? Live entertainment can also be more costly. But if you find the right person or people you may find that expenses is well worth it. Hiring a D.J. or making a CD on your own can have its pros and cons as well. Not having that human connection with your guests, you may find that your guests won’t get up on their own to dance, or something may go wrong with the equipment your using and if you have no D.J. then there is not one who is watching for errors. However you do it, make sure you way your pros and cons to both types of entertainment for your wedding.
Types of wedding live entertainment: Bands – First and foremost when someone is thinking about hiring live entertainment for their wedding they are usually thinking about hiring a band to play at their reception. This can be a great idea and you have many different types of bands out there to satisfy your guests. You want to make sure that you find a band that will be able to entertain any crowd and that will be able to get people up dancing.
Musicians – Hiring a musician to play at your ceremony or even during the reception or if you decide to have a cocktail hour may be a nice gesture. You have guitarist and vocalists, or even guitar vocalists! There are organists and pianists, flautists and saxophonists that would be great during the ceremony. Depending on what you are looking for, you have many different types of musicians to choose from.
And then there are: Entertainers – If you are looking for something to different to truly entertain your guests, why not try dancers or magicians? Of hire a theatre group to serve dinner by acting out a play? Mind readers or Hypnotists were surely set your wedding apart from the rest. You may find for the reception to have a theme going? Say a casino theme where guest can play games during the supper. Think out of the box. Who said that receptions have to only be speeches, dinner, dancing and cake! Be as different as you want to be. It is your wedding after all! Have it turn out exactly how you have always imagined it would!
